Second Dome – Pneumatic Architectural Structure
Second Dome is an pneumatic living structure designed by the Spanish architecture practice DOSIS for creative workspace provider Second Home. On 1 October 2016, Second Dome was inflated in London Fields in East London to host free community events for local families and children. The events were organized by the not-for-profit organization Shuffle, and include animation workshops, film screenings, pinata-designing and science experiments. This free day of activities in London Fields is part of Second Home’s commitment to supporting local communities and civic spaces.
"Second Home is all about making our cities more creative, innovative and entrepreneurial. That's why we've commissioned this pneumatic structure, which we’ll be taking to different places in the city, including London Fields in East London on 1 October.”
Rohan Silva, Second Home co-founder.
"Second Dome is such a playful space - and shows how our urban areas can fire our imagination, and can make it possible for people to come together in new ways."
Sam Aldenton, Second Home co-founder.
